The short version
Claude Academy answers how do I use Claude, and how does AI work? UofAi answers can I apply AI to my real work, repeatedly, with judgment I can show?
They share fluency language. They do not sell the same outcome. Academy is official, free, Claude-first vendor education. UofAi is an applied skills gym: short Reps on real work, Spotter feedback, and proof under a published Verification Standard.

Anthropic's official, free learning home for AI fundamentals and Claude products: courses, tutorials, use cases, and webinars.

Access
- Public catalog and lessons can be read without signing in.
- Sign in with a Claude account (free plan is enough) to save progress, grade quizzes, and earn completion badges.
- No paid Academy plan. Some hands-on exercises use paid Claude features (Cowork, Enterprise Search) or billable API/cloud usage.
How Anthropic designs the teaching
Designed to mirror how Anthropic onboards its own employees. 4D AI Fluency Framework: Delegation, Description, Discernment, Diligence.

The live catalog changes often. Official course pages reviewed 2026-08-31 also list later titles such as The AI-Native SDLC Playbook and Deploying Claude Enterprise with Confidence. Treat the 355 / 22 split as a dated snapshot, not a forever count.
Credentials (three different things)
- Free course completion badge, issued when every required quiz plus the final assessment is passed. Unlimited quiz retakes. Badges do not expire. Public verification link; name can be edited.
- Older Anthropic Academy on Skilljar issued completion certificates. Those remain valid on Skilljar. Progress does not auto-migrate unless emails match and the import banner is available.
- Separate paid, proctored Claude certification exams (Pearson delivery, Credly credential). Partner-gated via anthropic-partners.skilljar.com. Not the same as an Academy badge.
UofAi
An applied AI skills gym for working professionals: short Reps on real work, honest feedback, and proof of capability rather than another completion badge.
Thesis: Sell behavior change and proof-of-skill, not access to content.

Use Claude Academy when

- You teach AI fluency and need Anthropic's educator / pK-12 tracks.
Use UofAi when
- You already have access to AI tools and the gap is judgment, not feature awareness.
- You need proof you can run AI on real professional work - for yourself, a manager, or a hiring loop.
- Your workplace is mixed-tool (Copilot + ChatGPT + Claude) and the skill has to transfer.
- You want a gym: short reps, a coach, a ledger, and a credential that is not a quiz.
Use them together
- Use Claude Academy to learn what the tools can do; use UofAi to train what you do with them on live work.
- Take Claude 101 or AI Fluency: Framework & Foundations, then run UofAi Reps on this week's actual deliverables.
- Developers: Academy for API/MCP/Claude Code mechanics; UofAi Agent Training + Agentic path for oversight and directing a build team.

What this means for UofAi
Claude Academy will win any contest about Claude product coverage. UofAi should not try to out-catalog Anthropic. The durable contrast is evidence: real-work Reps, mixed-tool transfer (including Microsoft Copilot), a published verification standard, and team proof that is more than enrollment.
